Emergency support

As a registered and active international student, you may find yourself in financial distress at some point. For such cases, the International Office provides ViSiB emergency support. If you find yourself in such a situation and are unable to obtain other support in time, please feel free to contact the International Office by email at welcome@uni-bielefeld.de with your contact details. The Infopunkt International is also available for consultation:

(Short-term) Scholarships

The University of Bielefeld and Bielefeld University of Applied Sciences (HSBI) award (short-term) scholarships in cooperation with ViSiB to international students who have achieved outstanding academic results and/or demonstrated social commitment alongside their studies.

The following scholarship programmes have been/are being awarded to international students:

• ViSiB-Böllhoff Scholarship for international students at Bielefeld University of Applied Sciences
• Graduation scholarships for students who are about to complete their BA/MA degree or state examination (in cooperation with the International Offices of the University and University of Applied Sciences)

Application period:

The scholarships are advertised once a year by the universities. All information can be found on the website of the International Office of the University and HSBI.
