This student project aims at establishing an evening routine for children in a clinical ward for child psychiatry. Usually, the staff to patient ratio is lowest in the evening hours, however, because of the unfamiliar environment and the time of the day, children have trouble to calm down and fall asleep. An evening routine where a carer is reading a book to them, helps them become more quiet. However, this is difficult to realize because of limited staffing ratio. A robot could assist staff by taking on tasks in the evenings. For example, in the children's rooms, the Pepper robot reads a story to the children.
The project follows an agile participatory development approach along which clinical staff, patients and developers co-design robot behaviors.
