Research Day Medicine
The Medical Research Day of the Medical School OWL provides the opportunity to present current research projects and supports the exchange and networking among researchers of the Medical School OWL and the University Medical Center OWL, as well as beyond.
Research Day Medicine 2026
The Research Day medicine 2026 will take place on Wednesday, 25 March 2026, throughout the day at the X Building on the Bielefeld University campus. The program includes lecture sessions, poster walks, and exchange possibilities. Additionally, advisory and support services as well as networking opportunities will be offered.

Within the registration form you can also register for a poster contribution. Please note that a maximum of 2 presentations per working group or university clinic will be accepted. Shared talks are possible.

- Research Day Medicine 2025
The Research Day Medicine 2025 took place on 11 March 2025, all day on the ground floor of the X Building at Bielefeld University. The program featured lecture sessions, poster tours, a presentation of the supporting facilities of the medical faculty OWL, and various informational and networking formats. Approximately 350 researchers at all career stages took advantage of the opportunity for interdisciplinary exchange—including members of the Faculty of Medicine OWL, UK OWL, HDZ, and other university faculties.

Research Day Medicine 2024
The Research Day Medicine 2024 took place on 20 March 2024, all day on the ground floor of the X Building at Bielefeld University. The program featured lecture sessions, poster tours, presentations on DFG funding opportunities, and various informational and networking formats. Approximately 270 researchers at all career stages took advantage of the opportunity for interdisciplinary exchange—including members of the Faculty of Medicine OWL, UK OWL, HDZ, and other university faculties.

Bielefeld University The Research Day Medicine 2023 took place all day on 29 March 2023 on the premises of CITEC- Cognitive Interaction Technology, Campus north of Bielefeld University. The Research Day programme offered researchers presentations, poster and methods sessions as well as other information and exchange formats in the foyer. The opportunity for interdisciplinary exchange between researchers from the Medical School OWL and the UK OWL with the other Faculties of the University was used by around 200 researchers at all career levels.

- Research Day Medicine 2022
Bielefeld University The Research Day Medicine 2022 took place on 17 October 2022 on the premises of the Center for Interdisciplinary Research (ZiF). Prof Claudia Hornberg, MD, Dean of the Medical School OWL, opened the first Research Day in front of around 120 participants. In short presentations, the working groups of the Medical School OWL presented their fields of research and opportunities for cooperation. Prof Kerstin Krieglstein, MD, Rector of the University of Freiburg, gave a keynote speech on the structure of the Faculty.
