Objectives

Bielefeld University's strategy development for studying and teaching in the digital transformation focuses on forward-looking teaching/learning scenarios and the development of students' skills for a digital (working) world. The notion of innovation within the BiLinked project is to specifically strengthen students' independent self-learning which is didactically embedded in courses.

The basis is the university's teaching mission statement, which focuses on the joint responsibility of lecturers and students to aid successful studies. This is manifested in the Living Document for jointly designed teaching at Bielefeld University. A central challenge of digital teaching is to activate students more strongly so that in-depth learning can become possible.

Building on the "Qualitätspakt" project "richtig.einsteigen," in which innovative methods and approaches for the entry phase of students' studies were developed and implemented, "strengthening self-learning and collaborative work" is the guiding idea for the next innovation phase at Bielefeld University. To achieve this common goal, measures are being pursued on several levels:

  • Digitally enriched teaching/learning scenarios for in-depth learning will be developed and project-oriented, collaborative forms of work will be tested in didactically guided self-learning phases in courses/lectures within the conceptual framework of the project.

  • Within the Communities of Practice (CoP) lecturers network with other teaching staff as well as students to develop, test and disseminate innovative teaching/learning concepts in order to create fundamentals for the curricular consolidation of the new formats developed.

  • In order to enable lecturers and students to plan and implement digital teaching/learning scenarios that are suitable for promoting independent in-depth learning, the technical infrastructure for digital and hybrid teaching/learning formats and the associated support structure will be expanded in a targeted manner.
