From April 18th to June 20th, 2023, Restlos e.V. will again be sellin fruit and vegetable rescue boxes in front of the Main Entrance of the X Building every Tuesday from 3 to 4:30 p.m.. Restlos e.V. offers fruit and vegetables which are sorted out by wholesalers and retailers mainly because of external defects; the revenues from the sales are used for social projects.
The distribution campaign took place for the first time at the University in the winter semester 2022/23 as a trial run. It had already been piloted at the University of Applied Sciences in the previous summer semester.
Both Bielefeld University and the University of Applied Sciences want to set an example against food waste by supporting the campaign as part of their sustainability efforts.
Compared to last semester, there are a few new features: In addition to a small rescue box, orders can now be placed via a web form.
A rescue box, which contains about 7 kg of fruit and vegetables (partly in organic quality), costs 15 € plus deposit for the box or alternatively about 1 € for a cloth bag for the transport of the food.
New: In addition, there is now a small rescue box, with 3.5-4 kg for 8 € plus deposit.
In addition, a vegan bag can be purchased for 5 € , which buyers can assemble themselves on site from healthy products from the Restlos assortment (such as oat milk, oat cream or smoothies).
The rescue boxes and vegan bags are mainly given to pre-orderers*.

Orders for the respective week must be received by 10 a.m. on Monday in order to be considered for the following day. Spontaneous purchases are also possible - first come, first served.
The boxes can then be picked up on the respective Tuesday between 15-16:30 pm in the sales tent of Restlos e.V. in front of the Main Entrance of the X Building. Please bring cash with you, Restlos e.V. can change! A list will also be available on the respective sales day to order for the coming week. However, ordering is still possible via the website.
