Module description
The tasks of a professor, project management or managing director in academia are becoming increasingly complex and, as managers and decision-makers, you bear a great deal of responsibility and act as a role model.
In addition to the diverse demands of everyday working life, it is important to actively help shape various current projects and change processes at Bielefeld University and to take into account important cross-cutting issues such as health promotion, family friendliness or diversity sensitivity when designing the working conditions of your employees (or students). In addition, your tasks and responsibilities in the private sphere as well as your wishes for your own leisure activities. Among other things, your target group reports a very high workload and increasing levels of exhaustion and stress (e.g. in the 2023 employee survey) - not ideal conditions for long-term satisfaction and performance.
So how can you recharge your batteries when the demands are high and be successful at work at the same time?
The 1.5-hour online impulse lecture including discussion will highlight methods for gaining an overview of your personal situation and aligning and focussing yourself based on your (newly) set goals. The event is intended to contribute to a healthier, more balanced and successful work and life.
If required, individual appointments can then be arranged with the counselling centre for employees and managers to discuss these topics in greater depth.
