In advance:

• In order to subscribe to a shared calendar, the personal email address of the person who owns the calendar must first be entered for sharing.
• In these instructions, a calendar share exists for the calendar berta.musterfrau@uni-bielefeld.de for max.muster@uni-bielefeld.de as an example.
• Sub-calendar: In addition to the authorisation for the sub-calendar, there must also be an authorisation for the main calendar. For this, at least the authorisation level "Availability only" must be assigned.

As Android does not offer a native option, paid apps must be installed for this. The following instructions show the individual steps for the department with the app DAVx5 (previously Davdroid) under Android 14.0.0.

Subscribe

1.

Install and start the DAVx5 app.

Add a new account using the + symbol.

Selectregistration with URL and user name and enter the following data.

Base URL:
-> https://caldav.uni-bielefeld.de/principals/users/Uni-E-Mail-Adresse@uni-bielefeld.de/

Example: https://caldav.uni-bielefeld.de/principals/users/berta.musterfrau@uni-bielefeld.de/

Username:
-> Email address (for which the authorisation exists)

Password:
-> BITS password

Then click on REGISTRATION .

You can enter an account name of your choice here. Confirm via CREATE ACCOUNT.

Now open the newly created account in the account overview.

Important:
The correct calendar must still be selected.

Unter dem Reiter CALDAV kann dann der Kalender (Hauptkalender) ausgewählt werden. Hier erscheinen auch die Unterkalender, falls vorhanden.

Tick the relevant calendar and click on the sync symbol at the bottom right.

You can then view the subscribed calendar via the device's calendar app (may need to be activated/added there).
