Subscribe to calendar on iOS

Preliminary:

  • In order to subscribe to a shared calendar, the owner must have previously entered the personal e-mail address for the share.
  • In this tutorial, there is an example of calendar sharing on the calendar berta.musterfrau@uni-bielefeld.de for max.muster@uni-bielefeld.de.
  • Sub-calendar: The sub-calendar must also be shared with the main calendar. For this, at least the authorization level "Availability only" must be assigned.

Subscribe

1.

The configuration of new Exchange accounts is done via "Settings".

2.

Here go to Passwords & Accounts and select Add Account.

In the selection go to Other .

4.

SelectAdd CalDAV account.

5.

Server:
->https://caldav.uni-bielefeld.de/principals/users/Uni-E-Mail-Adresse@uni-bielefeld.de/

 


Example:
https://caldav.uni-bielefeld.de/principals/users/berta.musterfrau@uni-bielefeld.de/

Username:
-> e-mail address (for which the share exists)

Password:
-> BITS password

Description:
-> Freely selectable

Confirm with Next.

If an SSL error is displayed

In case of an SSL error, go to the Advanced settings that are then displayed.

 

 

-> Enable SSL use
-> Port: 443

Here you can also check the account URL again.

6.

Finally, confirm via Save .

Subscribe to subcalendar

Important:
A release for the main calendar must also exist for the release of the sub-calendar. For this, at least the authorization level "Availability only" must be assigned.

Example
Max Muster wants to subscribe to the shared sub-calendar "ProjektX" of Berta Musterfrau.

1.

To subscribe to shared sub-calendars, do the same configuration as described above.

2.

After configuration, open the Calendar app.

3.

Go to Calendar at the bottom.

4.

By subscribing before, existing sub-calendars will be listed as well. At this point you should check the desired sub-calendar/name of the calendar and then click Done.

The synchronization may take a moment to display the events in the calendar.
