Panopto video platform
With the video platform Panopto, a complete system for recording, distributing, searching, managing and basic editing of audio and video content is available at the university. All university employees and students can use Panopto to create their own audio and video content and enhance the content with tables of contents, subtitles, and other features. All content can be shared with other members of the university or via public link with any staff, people. Integration on websites is also possible.
Scope of services
- Own account in Panopto at Bielefeld University with personal folder for own recordings and uploads.
- Recording of video and audio content with web recorder, app or software for Windows/MacOS (download via platform).
- Live streaming incl. chat with viewers.
- Support for multiple screens and cameras as well as PowerPoint presentations.
- Edit video content directly in the browser including editing tools, tables of contents, subtitles, quizzes, web page overlays, and more.
- Share content with specific people or via link - optionally with the public. Videos can also be embedded into any web page via embed code.
- Full text search over all viewable videos incl. meta data, subtitles, visible text in the video image, slide text, personal notes, comments.
Options
In addition to the personal folder, further folders can be created that are outside the personal folder (e.g. for projects or working groups). The creation and authorization for these folders is done by the support.
Panopto offers numerous configuration options (comment function, table of contents, download option, audio podcasts, automatic subtitling). Feel free to contact us with your requirements and ideas.
