Offers for students

Blended Intensive Programme (BIP)

  • A structured, short-term, financially supported mobility abroad.
  • Integrated into the curriculum, at least through elective subjects.
  • Developed and implemented by at least three higher education institutions from three EU member states or associated third countries.
  • Provides an excellent opportunity to gain initial international study experience and improve language skills.
  • Combines virtual and physical components:
  1. Students from different universities collaborate throughout the programme.
  2. The on-site physical phase lasts at least 5 days and is the highlight of the programme.

Focus Academy

  • A special type of Blended Intensive Programme (BIP) within the NEOLAiA European University Alliance.
  • Structured, short-term, and financially supported international mobility programme.
  • Integrated into the curriculum, at least via elective or subsidiary subjects.
  • Organized by at least three universities from three EU member states or associated countries.
  • Offers an excellent opportunity to gain international study experience and enhance language skills.
  • Consists of virtual and physical phases:
  1. Continuous collaboration between students from different universities.
  2. Includes a joint on-site phase lasting at least 5 days.
  • Focuses on transversal and interdisciplinary topics to attract students from various academic fields.

Support for Doctoral and Postdoctoral Researchers

  • The NEOLAiA Alliance supports early career researchers in career development.
  • Provides information and opportunities for:
    • Mobility, exchange, and training programmes.
    • Mentoring, workshops, and career development tools.
    • Promotes the NEOLAiA research network for early career researchers.

The virtual cafés are intended to serve as informal online meeting places where members can meet in a relaxed, informal environment to exchange ideas, network and collaborate. Click here for the Virtual Café.

Bielefeld University has signed the agreement for the new multiple-degree Master’s programme in ‘Inclusion Studies’. From the 2027/2028 winter semester, this English-taught programme will be offered in collaboration with partner universities in Ostrava (Czech Republic) and Ștefan cel Mare in Suceava (Romania). The NEOLAiA Art Exhibition 2026 was a great success!

Thank you to all the students who took part in this year's NEOLAiA Art Exhibition. Bielefeld University invited students from across the NEOLAiA university alliance to share their ideas, perspectives, and creativity, celebrating the many ways we experience student life, place, and community through art.

We were delighted to receive numerous submissions from across the network. Selected works were displayed in an exhibition on the Bielefeld University campus, where the winners were also honoured during the event.

This year's exhibition has now come to an end. We would like to thank all participating artists and everyone who visited the exhibition for making it such a successful event. We look forward to the next NEOLAiA Art Exhibition.
