Bielefeld University strives to continuously develop as a national and international location for students, researchers, teaching staff and administration. The activities in the responsible cross-cutting topics of internationalisation, equality, diversity, inclusion, sustainability, health and reconciling appointments/studies and family/care responsibilities are geared towards this goal of holistic location development and make an important contribution to this.
In this way, the Vice-Rectorate promotes excellent research and innovative teaching, which attracts international researchers, teaching staff and students of all genders and backgrounds.
Close networking with national and international partners and the OWL region enables research and teaching to address the needs of society - such as the qualification and recruitment of outstanding (international) specialists with a special focus on female scientists in the scientific and technical fields - and thus actively address current challenges and development needs. Strategic partners and international networks such as NEOLAiA play a key role here.
General objectives of the Vice-Rectorate:
- Increasing the international mobility of students and administrative staff
- Internationalisation of excellent research and researchers
- Making Bielefeld University visible as a "Lighthouse Diversity, Inclusion & Gender Equality"
- Making solid networks between Bielefeld University and urban society visible
Supporting Bielefeld University's focus and profile areas, especially with regard to the following aspects:
- Establishing and expanding regional, national and international networks and collaborations that promote research
