We encourage pupils from families with no experience of higher education to be the first in their family to study. 6,000 volunteers are involved in 80 local ArbeiterKind.de groups across Germany to inform pupils about the possibility of studying and to support them on their journey from starting university to successfully completing their studies and starting a career. Most of our volunteers are students or first-generation academics themselves and report on their own experiences of their educational advancement and provide encouragement as personal role models.
The BAföG counselling service will help you with your BAföG applications and provide you with a help desk about your entitlement to BAföG. If you have problems with the BAföG office or if you are unsure whether you are entitled to BAföG, the BAföG advice centre will be happy to help you, because our advice is independent advice from experienced students for you.
Are you unsure whether your degree programme was the right choice? What is actually bothering me right now? What do I need/what do I need to change in order to successfully complete my degree programme? Do I need a course correction and possibly a change of degree programme? Counselling can also be used to formulate your own topic in the first place. You do not have to come with a specific concern, even a bad feeling is enough. We will support you in finding the right solutions for you.
Making the right decision during your studies is not always easy. Especially for degree programmes with a wide range of career options, it is important to think about your future career while you are still studying. BLICKPUNKTE aims to make it easier for participants* to gain an insight into science and offer them a framework in which they can let their gaze wander. One of the aims of BLICKPUNKTE is therefore to familiarise participants with the options and possibilities, point by point, conversation by conversation, and in this way to find a good (career) path for themselves.
It is not always easy to make decisions about your future during your studies. It can be helpful to think about your future career while you are still studying, especially for degree programmes with a wide range of appointments. BLICKPUNKTE aims to make it easier for participants* to gain an insight into science as a professional field and offer them a framework in which they can let their gaze wander. They are given the opportunity to find out about doctoral programmes and paths into science at an early stage. At the same time, it serves as a fixed meeting point with other female* students and academic staff from the faculty, where appointment-, career- and everyday life-related questions can be discussed.

Life is hard, someone very wise is said to have once said. For students, it's probably even a bit tougher. It's the time when your empty wallet is confronted with countless things you'd like to spend money on. Then, for the first time in your life, there are things that you need but didn't think about before and are now suddenly expected to pay for. How nice it would be if there was someone who could help you out with special student tariffs and more. Worry not, because you've just found your one-stop shop for student discounts, all designed to make your life as a student easier. This means you can save in practically all areas of life, whether it's buying new technology or travelling on your next holiday.
