International ­ Office

The International Office provides services for international students, doctoral candidates and international researchers, as well as for all Bielefeld students, professors and employees who are planning a stay abroad. Furthermore, the International Office advises faculties on cooperation agreements, internationalization and recruitment measures.

Our main responsibilities:

Services for all target groups of internationalization (including refugee students), students, researchers, and staff

• Pre-boarding and onboarding
• Information services and initial consultation
• Organization of events
• Accomodation support services
• Acquisition and management of third-party funding for the internationalization of the organization

Management of partnerships

• Support for faculties and units in their strategic development
• Recruitment of target groups for development fields and profile areas
• Strategic management of partnerships

Preparatory and accompanying German language courses for all university status groups (including summer German courses)

• Administration of placement tests, equivalency assessments, and other language examinations, in particular the German language examination for university admission
• Writing and learning support for academic writing in German as a foreign language
