International Office
Welcome to the International Office
The International Office provides services for international students, doctoral candidates and international researchers, as well as for all Bielefeld students, professors and employees who are planning a stay abroad. Furthermore, the International Office advises faculties on cooperation agreements, internationalization and recruitment measures.
Our main responsibilities:
- Providing advice to foreign prospective students
- Supporting international students and academic staff
- Advising German students who intend to study abroad
- Coordinating cooperation with international organizations
- Supplying support in concluding cooperation and partnership agreements with universities world-wide
- Allocating scholarship resources to international and German students
- Advising faculties concerning third-party fundings and international recruitment
- Preparatory and study-integrated German courses for international (prospective) students, PhD candidates and researchers at the German Language Centre PunktUm German
- Summer Courses for international students and graduates

International Info Point
In the period from October 27th to December 5th, 2025, the International Info Point will have limited opening hours:
Tuesdays and Thursdays: 11:00-13:00.
