For the initial setup of the softphone, open the "Cisco Jabber" program and open the settings via the gear icon in the upper right corner.

General

Autostart

The checkbox "Start Cisco Jabber when the computer is started" must be checked for the program to start automatically.

Call device

The "Device for calls" setting on"Turn off my computer" in the Jabber client must be set so that the softphone rings for incoming calls.

Audio

Open settings via the gear icon in the upper right corner.

Ringtone/Warnings
Sets which audio devices ring when a call comes in. For example, with "All devices" it rings on a headset and through laptop speakers.

Speaker
Sets the audio output and volume for phone calls.

Microphone
Sets the audio input and volume for phone calls.

Here you can use the arrow icons to define the default order of the loudspeaker and microphone if several devices are connected to the PC.

Video

For video calls, the camera is set here.

After changes click Apply.

Calls

Recommended settings:

• Never start calls with video
  -> Video function is thus only active when needed during a call.
• Display call window in foreground: For all calls
  -> This way you get a good visual representation of an incoming call.

Access bar

The access bar can be displayed and is always placed in the foreground on the screen.

Configure

Via the gear icon in the Jabber client under View, the bar can be set accordingly.
