There are currently two systems in which passwords for different IT services are managed:
Go to -> https://login.uni-bielefeld.de/idp/pwreset and start the password request.
First carry out the identity check steps here.

Log in to https://login.uni-bielefeld.de/kv/password with the temporary (start) password.
You will be prompted to create your own web password.
Log in to the account management at https://login.uni-bielefeld.de/kv/password.

-> Open the website https://prisma.uni-bielefeld.de.
Log in there with your UniID/matriculation number and PRISMA password. For students, this is initially the BITS password from enrolment. New employees generate the start password in the password self-service(see above).

The accounts for your own person are displayed here. Different passwords can be assigned for the different target systems. In this guide, we will show you how to change the password for all accounts at the same time. All accounts are selected via Select all, then click on Set password at the bottom.
The combination of login name/Uni ID and password enables access to personal data and resources. For this reason, these login details should always be kept secret! Another security measure is to change your password regularly.
The password must be so complex that it is not easy to guess. However, the password must not be too complicated so that you are able to use the password regularly with reasonable effort. It is also advisable to use password management software.
A suitable level of protection is achieved if a single password is used for each IT system, where possible.
Further password security measures can be found in the basic information security regulations (BRI) for employees:
