The results of the previous workshops and discussions, an analysis of the strengths and weaknesses of the BITS, the consideration of the environment, as well as current trends and innovations, which were brought in by the preliminary work of the innovation team, served as a basis.

During the discussion, the satisfaction of the IT services for the students was determined, potential for improvement was recorded and desirable IT needs were identified.
A further meeting for exchange is planned.

This workshop served to identify the synergies between the Centre for Teaching and Learning (ZLL) and BITS.

The purpose of this workshop was to determine satisfaction with IT services for the Central Administration, identify areas for improvement, and determine future IT needs for administration.

Planning for further workshops is underway:

  • 08.04. - Focus group with department heads of the central administration. The IM/HE department is co-organizer and staff, people from the department are also participants.
  • 10.04. - Focus group with ZLL. Synergy potentials are to be identified.
  • May - Focus group with students. Student representatives and AStA [Student Union] chairpersons will be invited. They can name interested participants who would like to take part in the workshop.

This workshop served to identify synergies between the University library and BITS.

As on 7.3. the Value Proposition Canvas was worked on in small groups. The Faculty of Biology and the ZiF were represented at this meeting.

An innovation team consisting of BITS employees was formed for the duration of the project. The team is to deal with trends and innovations in the university environment. The goal is to react to the collected requirements of the customers with corresponding trends/innovations. Furthermore, the examination of this topic area should sometimes also support a culture change (Innovative BITS).

The external stakeholders of the university are to be integrated into the project in different formats. On 07.03. staff, people from the Faculties/ Departments of Linguistics and Literary Studies, Mathematics, Physics, Sociology and Faculty of Technology/CITEC participated.
In the workshop, the so-called "Value Proposition Canvas" was worked on in small groups. Among other things, the following contents were addressed in the discussions:

  • Current and future tasks/needs of the scientific fields.
  • Challenges and problems in everyday life.
  • Solutions that do not meet expectations.
  • "What does science dream of?"
  • ...

Afterwards, the group results were presented to each other.

The identified wishes, problems and requirements must now be addressed with solutions by BITS in a next step. The resulting goals, tasks, project ideas will be presented to all involved participants of the Researcher workshops on 29.05.19 to collect a common commitment. If necessary, adjustments will have to be made again based on the Re-enrolment.
The goal should be to reintegrate BITS more strongly into the scientific field. The good cooperation with the Faculty of Medicine can be named as a model.

The university's external stakeholders will be integrated into the project in various formats. Individual events will take place between March and May. Invitations to these will be sent out promptly.
