"During my Master's degree in Interdisciplinary Media Studies, I started at BITS in 2019 as a research assistant in the central support team "TiL technology in teaching". In autumn 2023, I took over as team leader from the current seven student assistants.
With a rather communicative background, I first had to get to grips with the diverse topic of IT and acquire the specialist knowledge, but today IT and everything that goes with it is close to my heart.
After completing my degree in 2021, I was therefore delighted to be given the opportunity to manage and further develop the university's central learning platform (then still called "LernraumPlus") as an application supervisor. Among other things, this resulted in project management for the introduction of two new platforms.
Since then, I have been involved in all aspects of the Moodle learning management system in my day-to-day appointment, supporting internal and external departmental projects and constantly trying to adapt our learning platforms to new teaching requirements and the changing needs of users.
I also support the TiL team with all matters relating to support requests, the team or personal matters.
Through my tasks, I deal with a wide variety of areas in BITS (and beyond) on a daily basis. What strikes me most is the open and unbiased interaction between colleagues. My concerns are always taken seriously by my - often male - colleagues, so that constructive solutions can be worked out together.
This is probably largely due to the fact that diversity and equality have always been very important at BITS and especially at eLearning.media. Colleagues are seen first and foremost as people and are supported individually in this respect. It doesn't matter what background someone comes from and whether it's about professional or personal development."
