The SFB 1288 office – Project Z – is the coordinating office and interface for all administrative and organisational affairs relating to the Collaborative Research Centre. The staff of the secretariat support the research projects. Team Z maintains close contact with all SFB members and promotes interdisciplinary cooperation, above all, by ensuring free exchange of information and results, as well as by contributing to the further development of the SFB’s networking, and by maintaining contact with and coordinating the SFB’s cooperation partners in Germany and abroad, the Virtual Faculty and the associated members of the research network. The office functions both as an internal communication interface between the university departments, all departments and institutions at Bielefeld University, and as an external communication interface for the DFG and third parties. The office is, furthermore, responsible for the organisation of semesters, the planning and coordination of national and international conferences, workshops and meetings, as well as financial and personnel management.
