What do I use where?
There are many terms for the login name of the different IT services at the university. Username, identifier, loginname, matriculation number or Uni-ID are the most common terms. In addition, there are various combinations and passwords (Web-Password, Net-Password etc.) with which you have to log in.
We will give an overview of which login name and password is used for which service and website by means of an example.

Which password?
Passwords
Password management for the various services is generally performed via PRISMA. The different password groups are explained below. A password is usually used for several services.
The individual password groups:
Registration on the Identity Manager Portal (PRISMA)
This password is only used for registration on the
- PRISMA portal
Note: If you change your password, the web password is also changed automatically.
Registration to PCs, email mailboxes and other Windows and Active Directory services (AD password)
This password is used for:
- PC registration (AD - Active Directory)
- Email mailbox
- Calendar integration via CalDAV
Other connected systems
Network access (net-password)
This password is used for:
- WLAN/WiFi eduroam
- VPN
Web (Shibboleth )
The so-called web password is used for:
- electronic course catalogue (ekvv), PEVZ + all connected services via the login page login.uni-bielefeld.de
- Moodle
- Application and status portal (Studierenden-Login)
- All connected services via web authentication
- Employee portal and Roxen CMS 17 (only for employees)
