In this degree course, you can further expand and apply the knowledge you acquired in your Bachelor's degree and specialize in depth. The degree course is characterized by strong personal supervision, specific Master's courses, proximity to research and a high degree of internationality. In targeted courses, you will deepen your skills in writing philosophical texts and presenting philosophical topics. In these peer-reviewed courses, you will be further introduced to academic working methods. If you are interested in a teaching degree and philosophy, you can combine both passions in this degree programme.In a Bachelor's and Master's degree programme, you will learn all the important knowledge and skills to be able to successfully teach philosophy at Gymnasien, Gesamtschulen, Realschulen or Hauptschulen. The study programme starts with a Bachelor of Arts, which is followed by a consecutive Master of Education.

If you have a strong interest in interdisciplinary work, the four-semester Master's degree course in Interdisciplinary Studies of Science (ISoS) is an attractive option. It combines historical, economic, philosophical and sociological areas of science studies, concentrates on science-reflective studies and aims to work out and make explicit the essential characteristics of science. By attending courses from other disciplines, you will supplement your knowledge of the empirical sciences and relate this to science studies. You will be able to apply the knowledge you have acquired in practice through a science-related internship. You will strengthen your international profile by spending time abroad at one of our partner universities.
