Due to climate change, heat grows into an increasing health risk in Germany. However, according to the initiators of the national “Hitzeaktionstag” [heat awareness day], the German public has insufficient knowledge on the dangers of heat as well as about measures on how to protect themselves or others. Besides the city of Bielefeld, Bielefeld University also participates in Hitzeaktionstag.
The health management, AGUS [Work-, Health and Environment Protection of Bielefeld University] and the Sustainability Office offer various join-in activities and information dealing with the topic of heat. In the following weeks, there are also lectures and workshops regarding heat directed at students and employees of Bielefeld University. Further information regarding these offers and registration for the lectures and workshops can be found here. General information on heat protection at Bielefeld University can be found on the heat portal.
