Group drive
BITS offers so-called network drives for groups ("Shared-LW") on its central storage system for faculties and departments. These can be used by Working Groups, administration and secretary's offices for interactive collaboration. They serve, for example, as a storage location for publications, official data, etc..

Requirements
Request
Employees:
Authorization for access must be granted by the faculty/department or EDP supervision.
Faculties/departments:
A request for a group drive can be made by the decentralized EDP supervisor via BITS.
Deployment times
Initial department of a group drive:
approx. 10 working days after commissioning.
Extension of an existing group drive:
approx. 5 working days after commissioning.
Duty to cooperate
For the initial provision of the service, personal coordination between the IT supervision and BITS is usually required in advance.
The supervision of the respective faculty/department is responsible for setting up the permissions on the directories of the group drive and for quota monitoring.
