Research infrastructure and support services
In order for good research to flourish, it requires a solid basis of support, advice and infrastructure that researchers can rely upon in order to make the best success of their research projects.
To this end, Bielefeld University engages with important topics such as third-party funding, research data management and the promotion of young researchers, as well as providing advice on aspects of research ethics and science communication. Bielefeld University regards the support of young researchers as a strategically important and long-term task, which it promotes through a broad range of advisory and career development opportunities for talented researchers.

Current calls for proposals and tailored advice on applying for and managing projects funded through third-party funding bodies such as the DFG, the federal government, foundations, etc.

Networks with business, helps establish contracts for cooperative projects with industry, facilitates the commercialisation of research outcomes e.g. through providing advice on licencing, spinoffs and start-ups.

Bielefeld Young Researchers’ Fund
Twice a year, the Rectorate of Bielefeld University awards funds from the Bielefeld Young Scientists Fund to particularly qualified young scientists and scholars
