Where can I get the app?
The "Meine Uni" app is undergoing current development and will gain further functions in the future.
Changes and further developments can be found in the release notes at the bottom of this page.
BIS App 'Meine Uni'
In the "Meine Uni" app, students and staff can find the most important services for organising teaching and study activities.
The app does not replace the use of desktop applications, as the timetable, study information and examination management still offer more functions and information than can be used on a smaller mobile device. However, as a daily companion for everyday university life, the app is designed to provide the most important personal information in a compact and quickly accessible form.
All students and employees of the university can register in the app with their usual login (Uni.ID/username and web password) and thus receive personalised information. The app can also be used without a login, as only some of its functions require registration:
What can the app do?
The app provides students and employees of the university with the most important BIS functions and more:
- PEVZ: The directory of staff and departments can be searched using the name search or the department hierarchy and the contact details of employees can be called up
- eKVV: The quick search function is also available in the electronic course catalogue ( eKVV Jetzt!). function directly displays the current events. If you are logged into the app, personal data such as your own notes are added to the event details
- uni.news: Here you have direct access to the latest news from the current news blog
Only for logged-in users:
- My calendar: All of your own appointments that BIS recognises are shown here. Today, these are the dates from your own electronic course catalogue (ekvv) timetable, the dates of the events you give as a teaching staff, instructors, lecturers and appointments
- Academic achievements: Shows the most recently entered examination results and a complete overview broken down by semester. In the case of enrolment in the ReWi state exam(ination), these academic achievements are listed separately
- My evaluations: Open evaluations in the university's EvaSys are shown here and - if available - live evaluations from Medicine
- Rent a bike (only for students): Here you can retrieve the personal code for the'meinSiggi' offer and switch directly to the meinSiggi app
- Notifications: If you give us your consent, we will send you a notification on your smartphone for important events. This will initially involve notifications for new academic achievements, but will be gradually expanded
- Medicine-specific functions: Live evaluations and attendance documentation will be displayed in the app at the times when they are relevant, usually at the end of each event. These functions can also be used largely without a network ('offline'); as soon as the smartphone is online again, the data is synchronised
Digital Unicard
The latest function in the "My Uni" app is the digital Unicard. This is a digital alternative to the previous plastic card, which you can use wherever you have previously presented your ID: In the cinema, at the theatre box office and wherever you identify yourself as a student. The only exception we already know about: Studierendenwerk [Association for Student Affairs] does not accept the digital Unicard, so if you need to identify yourself as a student in the Mensa, you will still need your card.
You will find the digital student ID as a separate tile in the "My Uni" app. It shows the university logo, your name, matriculation number and current enrolment status. Students enrolled in the "State examination in medicine" programme will receive a separate reference to their enrolment so that they can identify themselves in the university clinics. The ID card also works when the phone is not online.
The digital student ID card displays enrolment status for members of the university who are also registered as students. This may not seem particularly noteworthy, but it is important for those who, from a legal perspective, are not enrolled but are ‘admitted’. For this reason, the enrolment status is not displayed for occasional students, prospective students and certain continuing education students.
We are starting a trial phase with the digital ID card, during which we want to gain experience together with you. We would like to ask you to test the new ID card wherever you have to identify yourself as a student. Share your experiences with us! What works well, what doesn't? Where do you encounter resistance or enthusiasm? Are there places that do not accept the digital version and insist on being presented with a physical card? What are the points of criticism that are levelled at you? Are there any advantages that you see in comparison with the plastic card?

Licence conditions
The 'Meine Uni' app is available to all members of Bielefeld University. By using the app, you declare your agreement that the regulations of the currently valid BITS user regulations also apply to your use of the app. You can access these regulations here. In particular, you undertake to comply with them:
- To observe the regulations and guidelines on information security of Bielefeld University, which you can view in the Information Security pages
- To observe the applicable data protection regulations when handling personal data
- Refrain from doing anything that interferes with the proper operation of the app
- Not to pass on passwords under any circumstances and to ensure that no other staff, people gain knowledge of them
- Not to identify or use third-party user IDs and passwords
- not to gain unauthorised access to other users' information and not to pass on, use or change information of other users that has become known without permission
- To help BITS on request in justified individual cases - in particular in the event of justified suspicion of misuse, to eliminate serious breakdowns and to analyse the causes of attacks that endanger information security - to provide information about (web) applications and methods used for control purposes or to analyse errors and to inspect the data of the systems concerned in compliance with data protection regulations.
