The PhD journey can be both inspiring and exhausting. Long hours, high expectations, and constant deadlines often drain your energy and make recovery difficult. This workshop introduces small, practical strategies to help you restore balance and build resilience during your doctoral research.

By integrating recovery practices into daily routines, you can create more sustainable energy for your research and yourself.

Content:

  • Debug your fight–flight–freeze response to stress
  • How small doses of compassion can support you in challenging research situations
  • Practical strategies to develop a healthier stress response during your PhD
  • Why negative experiences stick while positive ones slip away
  • Understanding the role of negativity bias in academic life
  • How to consciously cultivate and savor positive moments in your PhD journey

An optional 45-minute follow-up session supports the real challenge: integrating the workshop impulses into everyday academic life.
The focus is on encouragement, staying with the process, and allowing learning to unfold slowly and sustainably.
