The new R5 building is part of the Site Concept Campus South presented at the end of 2019, which considers the integration of the Medical School OWL structural implementation into the campus. A total of seven construction projects for the Faculty of Medicine will be realised in the coming years. 

R5

Building for teaching areas medicine, biology and gastronomy

Building R5 will in future be located on the new central square south of the consequence in the direct vicinity of Anatomy Building R6. With 5,690 square metres of main floor space on five floors, Building R5 offers plenty of room for medical teaching.

The ground floor will house a restaurant and a café with outdoor catering.

Construction started 20th October 2022. After a construction period of around two years, completion is scheduled for Q1 2025.

    In the future, the building will be located at the central square of the South Campus south of the consequence in direct neighbourhood to the Anatomy Building R6.

    The facade is made of natural clay, which is ecologically degradable and contains no harmful additives or heavy metals. The back of the R5 is greened.
