In order to work with your work computer, you must be logged into the PRISMA system. This is Bielefeld University's central identity management system, which offers you options for managing IT rights and applying for new IT access. You can also use PRISMA to apply for your UniCard (service card in chip card format). The entry is made automatically as part of the P/O.1 setting.

Here you will find an overview of which passwords can still be set in PRISMA and what they can be used for.

The PEVZ is the directory of staff and departments at Bielefeld University. The PEVZ is maintained in the faculties and institutions independently of the SAP entry. If an entry is missing or incomplete, the colleagues responsible for maintenance must be contacted directly. You can find the appropriate contact person for each institution by clicking on the link "Contact persons for correction requests" to the right of the institution or person entry.

You can access your mailbox via the login page of Bielefeld University's webmailer.

If no AD password has been set yet: Log in to PRISMA -> Under the heading "Log in to PCs, e-mail mailboxes and other Windows and Active Directory services (AD password)", you can set the password for this. This password is then used simultaneously for

  • Logging on to the PC (AD - Active Directory)
  • E-mail mailbox
  • Calendar integration via CalDAV

As a new employee, you will receive an email containing all relevant information about the UniCard and your personal access data for the PRISMA identity management system.

  1. Log in to the PRISMA identity management system self-service.
  2. Click on the "UniCard" tab and upload a current photo in passport photo format. You then agree to the regulations for using the UniCard.
  3. As soon as the photo has been uploaded and you have agreed to the terms of use, your UniCard can be produced. After 2 working days, the UniCard can be collected in person from the InfoPoint; please have a valid official photo ID (identity card or passport) ready. If required, employees can obtain a protective cover for their card.
  4. Now use the validation stations at the info point to apply a current validity period to the card.

On this page you will find the A-Z of the university library. The service card (the UniCard) is also the library card. Professors and academic co-workers who are in possession of a UniCard can authorise up to 3 people (e.g. assistants or secretarial staff) to borrow media from the library on their behalf. You can obtain further help desks at the Library Service Centre.

There are many designations for the login name of the various IT services at the university. Username, identifier, username or UniID are the most common terms. There are also various combinations and passwords with which you have to log in. You can find an overview of which account you can use to log in where here.

 

Via VPN access (Virtual Private Networking), BITS provides students and employees with worldwide access to special Bielefeld University services such as the library's research databases or the personal network drive.

The university uses the BIS (Bielefeld Information System) is used to organise degree programmes. Here you will find an overview of all BIS applications. UniMaps Bielefeld is an app that displays routes across the campus - accessible on request. Download via Google PlayStore, Apple App Store or the website.

If you are not sure which department to address your enquiry or request to, you are welcome to send it to medizinische.fakultaet@uni-bielefeld.de. Your enquiry will then be forwarded internally to the relevant department or person.
